Today I would like to tell you about the free avast Anti-Theft phone tracker application. Unlike some cell phone tracking applications that you might read about on my website that are designed to help you keep track of your family and friends, this app is specifically designed to help you track down a lost or stolen smartphone. First of all, I should point out that this app is designed for smartphones that are running the Google Android operating system. That of course means that you can download it through the Play Store application on your smartphone. After you have downloaded this app onto your phone, run the application and follow the simple instructions for setting up an account. After you have the application installed on your phone and you have an account set up, you can use the avast Anti-Theft web-based interface to locate a lost or stolen smartphone. This application uses the GPS receiver that is built into your phone to determine its location but according to the description in the Google Play Store,… Read more of this article »

There’s a free app that can be used to find your lost or stolen cell phone called “Find My Phone” that I would like to tell you about today. This application is made to work on smartphones that are running Google Android version 2.3 or higher. It’s made by the same developers as the GPS Tracking Pro application. The name of the developer is “Family Safety Production”. As a matter of fact, this application looks very similar to GPS Tracking Pro. After installing it on my phone, I was presented with a login screen that looked quite similar to the GPS Tracking Pro login screen. I was asked to enter my email address and password so out of curiosity, I entered my email address and the same password that I use for GPS Tracking Pro and I was able to login to the Find My Phone app. The main login screen has a slightly different appearance on the find my cell phone application but once I was logged in, I had a hard time finding… Read more of this article »
Today I would like to tell you about a really cool GPS tracker application for Android powered smartphones called “GPS Tracking Pro”. Even though it has the name “Pro” in its title, it’s actually a free app. This seems to be a very popular tracking application. I just checked and there have been over 5,000,000 downloads and it has a rating of 4.4 out of five stars! That’s pretty impressive! One of the things I like most about this application is that it has a feature that I’ve missed since Google Latitude was decommissioned. This application, much like Google Latitude did, allows you to send invitations to your friends so that they can download the app and give you permission to track their phones. When they accept your invitations, they will be able to track you and you will be able to track them which makes this a great social networking tool as far as I’m concerned. It’s a great way to see where all your friends are hanging out on a Friday night so… Read more of this article »

I was saddened when the old app went offline in 2012 because it was one of the only apps that I was aware of that was reported to work on prepaid phones that weren’t of the smartphone variety. The email that I received actually said: From: Info InstaMapper Sent: Saturday, January 18, 2014 3:03 PM To: email@example.com (Note: email address masked to prevent spam) Subject: Instamapper is back Hi there Instamapper is back online, we are a new team of people and would really appreciate it if you could do a story or post on us CHeers I was a big fan of the old InstaMapper app so I was excited to hear that they appear to be back. Fortunately, there is a free app called Lookout Mobile Security that is perfect for doing just that! I actually have this application installed on my HTC Thunderbolt and my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I’ve never had a problem with it. If you would like to activate the premium features, it will cost you $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year.
